Operation Plan #204-65 (Operation CUTWORM) 

1.                  Situation

a.     Enemy Forces.  See Current ISUMS

b.     Friendly Forces

1.                  No change.

2.                  Assumptions.

a.                  Landing point at bridge (BT 498067) will continue to be secure.

b.                  That support required for operation will be provided.

2.       Mission.  Commencing 141300H Jul, Company A (-) conducts extended combat patrol to seek and destroy enemy along assigned route.  Remaining Companies maintain defensive positions and conduct local security patrolling.

3.       Execution

a.      Concept of Operations.  Company A (-) moves by LVT over water route and lands in vicinity of (BT 498067).  Conducts combat patrol along assigned route to an assembly area and established a defensive perimeter.  Continues combat patrol along designated route at a prescribed time and links up with LVT’s vicinity of (BT 436113).  Returns to assigned defensive positions over water route.

b.      Company A (rein).

1.       Conduct Company (-)(rein) extended combat patrol to seek and destroy enemy along assigned route.

2.       Move by LVT from present position to splash point vicinity (BT 515115).

3.       Splash time: 141300H.

4.       Move along assigned water route and beach at bridge vicinity (BT 498067).

5.       Conduct combat patrol along assigned route.

6.       Enter assembly area and establish defensive perimeter vicinity of Hill 69 (BT 468068) at 141700H

7.       Continue combat patrol along assigned route at 150200H.

8.       Link up with LVT’s vicinity of (BT 436113) at 151400H and return to assigned defensive positions.

12.  Submit Sit Reports every 30 minutes and/or as incidents occur.

13.  Short title:  CUTWORM’.

14.  Operation Overlay.

c.      Company B (rein)

1.       Maintain defensive positions on near MLR.

2.       Provide one (1) Platoon under OpCon of Company A to assist in defense of Company A defensive positions on MLR.

3.       Conduct patrols as directed.

d.      Company C (rein)

1.       Maintain defensive positions on forward MLR.

2.       Conduct patrols to the rear as assigned.

e.      Company D (rein).

1.       Maintain defensive positions on Forward MLR.

2.       Conduct patrols to the rear as assigned

3.       Provide one (1) Platoon as helo lifted last Reaction Force in support of Operation CUTWORM.  Fifteen (15) minute standing alert.

f.        H&S Company

1.       Be prepared to support Operation CUTWORM as directed.

g.      Attached/Supporting Units.

1.       Det. Co. A, 1st AmTrac Bn.  Direct support of Company A.

2.       Btry H, 3/12.

a.                  Displace to be in firing position to support Operation CUTWORM at 141400H.

b.                  Priority of fires to Company A.

4.            Administration and Logistics.  No change.

5.            Command and Communications/Electronics.  No change.
