Operation Plan 205-65 (Operation FLUSH)

Time Zone: H
1. Situation.
a. Enemy Forces. See Current ISUMS.
b. Friendly Forces
1. Artillery. 3rd Bn, 12th Marines (rein) provides light Artillery Battery in direct support with priority of fires to Company D from 170800H to 181800H. Medium and heavy artillery, as required.
2. Air. MAG-12 provides 4 A/C for CAS from 170800H to 170930H. AO on station from 170800H to 171000H. Provides convoy escort and conducts other missions, as directed.
3. Anti-Tank. Company B, 3rd AT Bn, provides one Platoon in direct support. Operational control of Company D.
4. Amphibious Tractors. Company A, 1st AmTrac Bn provides detachment in direct support.
c. Attachments and Detachments. None.
d. Assumptions.
1. That beach landing will be unopposed.
2. That water route and inland route will be trafficable for tracked vehicles.
3. That support requirements as planned will be provided.
2. Mission. Company D (rein) conducts extended combat patrol along assigned route to seek and destroy enemy.
3. Execution:
a. Concept of Operations. Company D (rein) moves by surface means to (BT 476082) crosses beach at 170800H and moves inland to (BT 473077) to link up with Platoon (-) of Company B, 3rd AT Bn at 170815H. Ontos provides convoy escort for tactical motor march to dismount point (BT 440089). AO on station provides observation and security along route of tactical motor march. Upon completion of off loading of troops at dismount point. Amphibious Tractors with one (1) Platoon of Company A as security force and AO providing observation and security moves south along Route 1 and returns to Battalion CP. Company D (rein) conducts combat patrol along assigned route, seizing intermediate objectives enroute to Hill 51 (BT 447064). Establish patrol base vicinity of Hill 51 (BT 447064) and conducts night combat patrols/establishes ambushes. Commencing 180300H, continues combat patrol along assigned route, seizing intermediate objectives and moves to pick up point (BT 436122) arriving approximately 181600H. Returns by surface means to defensive positions on MLR.
b. Company A (rein).
1. One (1) Platoon provide security for Tractors. Upon return, OpCon of Company C to assist in defense of MLR.
2. Company A (-) one-hour standby alert as helo lifted fast Reaction Force commencing 180500H.
c. Company B (rein).
1. One Platoon OpCon Company C at 170600H to assist in defense of MLR.
2. Company B (-) 15 minute standby alert as helo lifted fast Reaction Force commencing 170800H.
3. Company B (rein) standby as helo lifted fast Reaction Force with one Platoon in assigned Landing Zone commencing 180500H, remains on 30 minute alert.
d. Company C (rein).
1. Assume responsibilities of defensive positions on MLR assigned to Company D commencing 170700H.
2. Assume responsibilities of defensive positions on MLR assigned to Company D commencing 100700H.
3. Company C (-) one hour standby alert as helo lifted fast Reaction Force commencing 180500H.
e. Company D (rein).
1. Attach FAC Team A, one (1) section (rein) 81mm Mortar Platoon, Scout team (3 section and interpreter).
2. Executive Operation FLUSH.
3. Coordinating Instructions.
(a) H-hour: 170800H. Alternate: To be designated.
(b) Provide one Squad for Ontos security on return from operation.
(c) Preplan supporting arms fires along assigned patrol route.
(d) Preplan and schedule resupply.
(e) Conduct squad size night combat patrols and establish ambushes from patrol base. Submit recommended patrol route/ambush sites to this Headquarters at 161300H.
(f) Submit Sit Reports every 30 minutes and /or as incidents occur.
(g) Short Title: Operation FLUSH.
(h) Operation Overlay.
4. Administration and Logistics. No change.
5. Command and Communications/Electronics. No change.
