1.         250635H-251630H.  Coordinated operation conducted with two battalions (-) of 6th ARVN Regiment.  USMC units conducted search and destroy on peninsula centered (BT 4416) simultaneously and in conjunction with 6th ARVN Regiment units’ search and destroy on island centered (BT 4315).  A total of forty-one local nationals were detained by Marines during the operation.  Upon screening and interrogation by ITT and CI personnel, twelve were determined to be VCC and twenty VCS.  Remaining nine were released.  During the operation one VC was killed and one wounded.  No USMC casualties.

2.         271038H.  On company (-) sized combat patrol in western portion of TAOR, 3rd platoon (rein), Company A, encountered booby trap at (BT 450053), resulting in serious injury to platoon commander and platoon guide.  Booby trap was believed to be bouncing type mine or explosive device tripped by wire at chest height.

3.         271100H.  Three more Marines were wounded by two booby traps vicinity (BT 435045) when 1st platoon (rein), Company A was taken under fire from village at (BT 435045).  As platoon rushed the village, enemy withdrew from contact, but two booby traps were detonated by pursuing Marines.

4.         291007H.  One company (-) sized combat patrol in western portion of TAOR, a Marine suffered a punctured instep wound from punji stake vicinity (BT 446103).  Man had to be evacuated.

5.         291600H (approximate).  Two local Vietnamese civilians, a woman and a young boy, were assaulted by Marines, and suffered multiple knife wounds.  Condition of both is good.  Incident occurred in house in local hamlet vicinity (BT 520089).
