My Frag Order #33 Follows:
1, Situation.
A. Enemy. See Current ISUMS.
B. Friendly. Remains the same.
2. Mission. 1st Bn (rein), 4th Marines continues to consolidate TAOR #1 by conducting aggressive daylight and night combat patrols, establishing ambushes, conducting search and clearing operations in villages. Be prepared to assume control of TAOR #3 on short notice in addition to TAOR #1.
3. Execution.
A. Company A (rein). Attach one squad of engineers and FAC Team ‘A’. Helo lift company A (-) form LZ Robin to vicinity of checkpoint 99 commencing 010930H. Move to vicinity of checkpoint 121 and then north to BLT objective ‘O’. Search and clear small village vicinity of checkpoint 121. Upon completion of search and clear operation helo lift attachments less FAC Team from LZ Sparrow. Helo lift one platoon (1st Platoon) from LZ Robin to LZ Hawk and relieve Company C (-) in defense of 81mm mortar firing position. Assume defensive responsibilities of BLT objective ‘O’. Establish platoon ambush vicinity of GC 508004 commencing 012000H. Secure ambush at 020600H. One squad of flames standing by on call commencing 010930H. Do not execute mission assigned in Frag Order #32 until ordered to do so by this headquarters.
B. Company B (rein). Provide one platoon to assist in IMP CP defense and act as fast reaction force. One platoon located at checkpoint 115 assume night defensive position evening of 1 June. Surround village of Phuoc Binh Tay (2) and conduct search and clear operation at first light on 2 June. Upon completion of search and clear operation helo lift from vicinity checkpoint 115 to LZ Wren 1 commencing approximately 021100H. Conduct local patrols vicinity BLT objective ‘N’ from sundown to midnight.
C. Company C (rein). Upon relief by company A at LZ Hawk on 1 June provide platoon size combat patrol from LZ Hawk to BLT objective ‘P’. One platoon remains in defensive position at BLT Objective ‘Q’. Conduct local patrols vicinity BLT Objective ‘Q’ during the hours of darkness as required.
D. Company D (rein). Continue to assist in IMP CP defense. Coordinate with HQTRS CMDT. Provide working parties as required. Coordinate with S-1. Provide liaison officer to district Headquarters 2 June. Depart 021600H. Report to S-3/S-2 for briefing at 1430H.
E. H&S Company. Continue IMP CP defense improvements. Provide working parties as required. Provide one squad of Flames to be helo lifted on short notice to assist Company A on 1 June. Continue planning for 106RR platoon/Flames search and clear operation 3 June.
F. Attached Units.
1. 1st Plat, Co B, 3d Recon Bn. Continue Operation Sore Feet upon relief of LZ responsibilities by Company A on 1 June. Enroute note possible ambush sites and landing zones.
2. 1st Plat, Co B, 3d AT Bn. Assist in IMP CP defense. Continue coordination with engineers to push through road to base of Hill 213.
3. 1st Plat, Co C, 3d TK Bn. Continue driver training, IMP CP defense and PM checks of vehicles. Prepare plans in support of Company A in accordance with mission assigned in Frag Order #32 for possible future execution.
G. Coordinating Instructions.
1. Units assigned the mission of IMP CP defense coordinate immediately upon arrival with Hqtrs CMDT as to emplacement of weapons and personnel. Request company commanders or XO and weapons platoon commander arrive first lift if possible to make liaison. Do not under any circumstances change positions of weapons or personnel once assigned without approval of Hqtrs CMDT. Provide forty man working party and one officer daily to Hqtrs CMDT to assist in IMP CP defense improvement.
2. Previous issued instructions remain in effect.
4. Administration and Logistics. No change.
5. Command and Communications/Electronics. No change.
