Frag Order #34 Follows:

 

1.            Situation.

A.                Enemy.  See current ISUMS.

B.                Friendly.  Remains the same.

2.            Mission.  1st Bn (rein), 4th Marines continues to consolidate TAOR #1 by conducting aggressive daylight and night combat patrols, establishing ambushes, conducting search and clearing operations in villages.  Be prepared to assume control to TAOR #3 on short notice in addition to TAOR #1.

3.            Execution.

A.                Company A (rein).  Conduct daylight patrol commencing 1st light via checkpoints 115, 121, 231, NE to 250, up stream to 220, and then back to LZ Mynah.  Establish ambush at GC 520989 at 032000H.  Secure at 040500H and return.  Send one platoon to obj ‘P’ to arrive prior to helo lift of company C to Hill 410, about 031100H.

B.                Company B (rein).  Establish platoon ambush in vicinity GC 543989 at 030100H.  Move to GC 551983 to be in position at 1st light and act as blocking force for search and clear mission of Tri Binh (1) conducted by Company D.  Provide one platoon (B-1) to conduct armored patrol in conjunction with heavy section of tanks commencing 030600H.  See Operation Overlay.

C.                Company C (rein).  Continue defense of Objective ‘Q’.  Be prepared to helo lift to LZ Falcon upon 1st Plat recon securing zone about 031100H.

D.                Company D (rein).  Continue in defense of Imp CP.  Provide working parties as required.  Coordinate with S-1.  Provide forty man working party and one officer to Hqtrs Cmdt for Imp CP defense improvement.  Continue planning and preparation for search and clearing operation on 4 June.

E.                H&S Company.  Search and clear village at GC 557994 commencing 030600H.  Civil affairs officer and interpreter will be provided.  81mm mortar platoon make final preparation for displacement and submit recommendations for relocation of firing positions.  Continue Imp CP defense and provide working parties as required.  Provide liaison officer to district headquarters.  Depart 021600H.  Briefing by S-3/S-2 031430H.

F.                 Attached Units.

1.                  1st Plat, Co B, 3d Recon Bn.  Remain in defense Bn CP.  Helo lift to Hill 385 at 030630H.  Patrol to LZ Falcon, Secure zone for Company C Lift and return to LZ Robin upon completion by helo.

2.                  1st Plat, Co B, 3d AT Bn.  Assist in defense of Imp CP.  Be prepared to be attached to Company D on 4 June for search and clear operation of Tri Binh (1).

3.                  1st Plat, Co C, Ed TK Bn.  Conduct armored patrol in conjunction with 1st Plat, Company B commencing 030600H from Imp CP south on route #1 to vic GC 574970, checkpoints 145, 154, then NW and West to 120 and return.  Lt Pafrath designated OIC of Patrol.  Code Name: PANZER.

G.                Coordinating Instructions.

1.                  Civil Affairs officer and an interpreter will accompany search and clear operations in all villages not previously clear.  To establish contact and prepare for subsequent madcap and civic action operations.

2.                  Do not change positions of weapons or personnel once assigned without approval of Hqtrs Cmdt.  Unit assisting in Imp CP defense provide forty man working party and one officer daily to Hqtrs Cmdt to assist in Bn CP, defense improvement.

3.                  Plans for operations outside of New TAOR #1 must be submitted to higher headquarter at least seventy two hours in advance.

4.                  Operations overlay.

5.                  Previously issued instructions remain in effect.

4.            Administration and Logistics.  No change.

5.            Command and Communications/Electronics.  No change.
