Subj: Situation Report (161800H to 171800H)
1. General Summary of Significant Events. Continued consolidation of defensive positions, with patrolling in front of positions. No enemy contact. Near incident with locals due to TD-18 knocking down trees along road. Locals highly sensitive about grave areas and the cutting of trees or shrubs.
2. Operational Summary.
a. No casualties during period.
b. No weapons captured.
c. No material destroyed.
d. Detailed Summary.
1. Company A (rein), continued improvement of defensive positions in assigned area. No patrolling during the period.
2. Company B (rein), positions remain the same. Company continuously consolidating and improving defensive positions. Squad size patrol TOD 170700H. Point of departure/return (POD/R) GC 524090. Route: counter clock wise around position TOR 170900H. No enemy contact. Squad size patrol TOD 170700H. POD/R GC 529085. route: patrolling GS 5200 TOR 170900H. No enemy contact.
3. Company C (rein), positions same location. Continually improving defensive positions by sand bagging, camouflage and tactical wire. Out post at bridge, roadblock and Hill 69 (reinw/81 section) had no enemy contact.
4. Company D (rein), improving positions and enforcing restrictions on civilians in purchased area. One squad size security patrol TOD 162230H. Route: POD 519063, 523070 to POR 524074 TOR 170023H. No enemy contact.
5. Recon Platoon was displaced to vicinity of Bn CP.
6. Engineers continued to assist in the improvement of Bn sector, with heavy equipment and demolitions.
7. AT Platoon in direct support.
8. Tank Platoon remains in direct support.
3. Plans. Continue improvement of defensive positions. See my frag order #45 for future patrols.
