1.         Summary of Significant Events.  Co A (-) (rein) departed on a two day extended patrol to Ky Xuan Island.  Recon plat on LCR boat surveillance mission of small island north of peninsula.

2.         Operational Summary.

A.                The Bn had 3 casualties during period.

B.                No weapons captured.

C.                No material destroyed.

D.                Detailed Summary.

1.                  Co A, continued consolidating defensive positions.  Conducted one squad size security patrol with negative contact.  Co (-) (rein) moved out at 250700H on a combat patrol reinforced with section of AmTracs.  Will cross to Ky Xuan Island and patrol to northern most point, remain overnight and continue south and eat 260700.  Present position 488103.

2.                  Co B, continues improving defensive positions on MLR.  Conducted two squad size security patrols with negative contact.  Company preparing for helo operation on 25 June.

3.                  Co C, continues to maintain roadblock/bridge with one plat (rein).  Outpost on Hill 69 has one plat (rein) with sections of 81mm mortars.  CP positions remain the same.  One squad still in defensive positions on northern end of airfield.

4.                  Co D, continues to improve and consolidate defensive position along the purchased land boundary.  Conducted two squad size recon patrols firing period with negative contact.  Company is preparing for joint operations with Co B on 26 June.

5.                  Recon plat is conducting a LCR boat patrol to island GC 525145.  Patrol still in progress.  Landed on island at 251025H.

6.                  Artillery expended 82 rounds of HE and 15 rounds of WP ammo during period.  The 81mm mortar plat expended 32 rounds HE Med and 38 rounds HE light.  No illumination was expended.
