OPSUM #18       Period Covered 011100H to 021100H June 1965

1.         Operations.

A.                Co A, established a night defensive position vic 522971.  Moved south ckpt 120 and are searching and clearing village vic ckpt 120.

B.                Co B, has established two blocking positions one plat (-) at ckpt 115 and one plat (-) GC 492977.  One plat is at Bn CP as fast reaction force and the other at LZ Wren 1.

C.                Co C, is in defense of Obj ‘P’ with one plat at LZ Hawk assisting in defense of 81mm mortar platoon and another on Hill 237.

D.                Co D, is assisting in the consolidation of defensive positions at Bn COP, which  remains in the same location.  Also providing working parties and an officer to District Headquarters for liaison.

E.                Recon plat returned from extended patrol at 011700H.  Patrol originating at Hill 410 and terminating at Bn CP.  The plat is now assisting in defense of Bn CP.

F.                 Artillery and 81mm mortar plat registered and fired H&S fires.
