OPSUM #20 Period Covered 031100H to 041100H June 1965
1. Operations.
A. Co A, conducted one plat size patrol vic Hill 385, have returned with no enemy contact. Another plat size patrol working area approximately 2000 meters north of Obj ‘O’, presently are in vic of GC 520085. 1st plat is at LZ Hawk.
B. Co B, established at plat size ambush vic 543909. Upon securing, patrolled to LZ Swallow and were helo lifted to Bn CP to assist in defense of same. Two plats now at Bn CP. The third plat on Hill 213 awaiting relief by Co D at approximately 041300H.
C. Co C, continued defense of Hill 410. Conducting local patrols within 500 meters with no enemy contact but numerous trails not on map have been located.
D. Co D’s mission contained in frag order #35 cancelled. Assisted in defense of Bn CP and were on standby status on 3 June and throughout the night. Presently are awaiting helo lift to Hill 213 to relieve Co B at approximately 041200H.
E. 1st Plat, Co B, 3d AT Bn, escorted regimental motor convoy to Quang Ngai this a.m. Have returned without incident.
F. Artillery registered in TAOR #1. No H&I fires were fired. Two rounds of illumination were fired. 81mm mortars registered and fired H&I fires within TAOR #1. Four rounds of 81mm illumination were expended.
