OPSUM #24 Period Covered 071100H to 081100H June 1965
1. General Summary of Significant Events. Extensive patrolling continued. One patrol provided blocking force for E Company sweep which netted 11 men and 5 women. Company C assumed Bn CP defense and company B helo lift to vicinity 479999 was cancelled. Established company CP at 520022. A total of 4 ambushes were set. Bn presently preparing for future displacement on order of regiment. One reinforce platoon moved to vicinity 558004 to check on movement of 60 unidentified persons.
2. Operational Summary.
A. No friendly or enemy casualties reported.
B. No weapons captured.
C. No material or property destroyed in yesterdays search and clear.
D. General Summary.
1. Company A (rein). Located in same positions as last reported. One patrol completed. 1st plat location 507997. 2d Plat location 497996. 3d plat and CP location 512993.
2. Company B (rein). While awaiting helo lift to vicinity 479999 had mission cancelled. Established company CP at 515021 and set 3 night ambushes at 549013, 517021 and 519020. Presently checking vicinity 5102 for possible ambush sites and outpost site. 2d Platoon sent to vicinity 558004 to check sighting of 60 people moving. 3d platoon in defense of Bn CP.
3. Company C (rein). Continued in defense of Bn CP. Provided one squad as blocking force for regimental sweep vicinity 539028.
4. Company D (rein). Continued in defense of Hill mass 532003. One night ambush at 534995. No enemy contact.
5. 1st Plat, B Recon. Returned from Hill 410 (479999). Assisting in defense on Bn CP.
