3. Summary of enemy activity for period:
a. Ground activity –<![endif]>
1. Company A – SDC Members of An Hai reported a boat moving from Ky Xuan to Ky Ha vic (BT 513095) at 292125H. A patrol from A Co. was diverted to investigate and the patrol reported that the boats were anchored off Ky Xuan with lights on at 292255H. SDC Post #2 (BT 518102) reported seven carbine rounds incoming from vic (BT 514098) at 292815H. No casualties. No other details available.
2. Company B - Reported incoming rocks vic (BT 530086) at 292105H. Area was illuminated with negative results. Rocks were reported in-coming at same location at 292120H. Marines returned one M-26 Frag Grenade. The area was immediately checked out with nothing unusual found.
3. Company C – Suspected enemy movement reported vic (BT 509131. At 292335H. Illumination was expended with negative results.
4. Company D – No enemy contact.
g. Other: Debrief of patrol leader, A-2, and Special Intelligence Team report
The young mothers of Hoa Xuan, if they happened to have a baby in their arms, would immediately begin to breast feed the child when Marines approached. Some young women moved about with no clothing on their upper bodies.
S-2 Comment: There has been reports of female propaganda units working in the Chu Lai Area. This could have been a diversionary tactic used to cause Marines to not search a certain area. It could have been an attempt to cause an incident between USMC/VN personnel.

a. The 34th Battalion (ChiCom) Bn Commander unknown, reported vic (BT 440983) at 281900H. Strength 300. Weapons: 1-81mm mortar, 1-57 RR, 3-60mm mortars, 1-rocket launcher, 23-LMG. Green uniforms, field cap and rubber sandals. Reported as intending to combine with the 94th Bn and three Local Force Battalions to attack District Headquarters and USMC positions between 27 October and 3 November. Value C/3

13. Information concerning VC activity received directly from civilians. Local civilians report that a number of the VC that attacked Chu Lai Air Strip on 29 October 1965 came from Ky Xuan. The PF platoon Commander reported that he believed one of the VC killed in C/3 Squad ambush was from Ky Xuan. (made photo identification) Ly Tin District Senior Advisor reports that both VC that were killed were identified as being from Ky Xuan.
