1.         Situation.

a.                 Enemy forces.

(1)               Current INTSUMS

(2)               PD District reports 1 VC Co in vic YD 4735.

b.                 Friendly forces.

            (1)        4th Marines continues Operation Neosho

(2)               1st MAW provides fixed wing and helo support.

(3)               3rd Bn 12th Marines provides artillery support.

(4)               PF/RF from Phong Dien participate in operation.

2.         Mission.  Provide a one company blocking force for a PF/RF sweep in the vicinity of YD 4635.

3.         Execution.  See operations overlay.

Commencing H-hour on D-day move by truck to Phong Dien district Headquarters, exchange liaison personnel, and proceed to blocking position in order to be in position by 150500H.

c.                  Battalion reserve.

d.                 Coordinating Instructions.

(1)               Adhere strictly to the rules of engagement.

(2)               Report by fastest means available all enemy contacts.

(3)               Caution friendly troops on mines and booby traps known to be in area.

(4)               Do not destroy captured food or medicine.  Report location and await instructions.

(5)               Report POW’s and detainees to Bn CP and await instructions.

(6)               Operation terminates on order this HQ.

(7)               Submit normal spot reports.

(8)               H-hour: 1430

(9)               D-day: 15 Nov 67

4.         Administration and Logistics.

a.                 Prescribed load.  As directed by Company commander to include 3 MCI.

b.                 Resupply.  None should be required.  Emergency request to be submitted ASAP.

c.                  Uniform and Equipment.  As prescribed by Company Commander.

d.                 Med-Evac.  Helo evacuation IAW SOP.

5.         Commander and Comm/Elec

a.                 Command Posts.  Report locations as seen as established.           

b.                 Visual.  Carry colored smoke and air panels.

c.                  Thrust Points.  Common PF/USMC thrust point    ZULU:   YD 4936

d.                 Radio Frequencies.

(1)               Guard 60.35 upon departure Camp Evans.

(2)               Alternate Net 47.2

(3)               Med-evac 45.7

(4)               MACV PD District: Call Sign ‘Secure Ripple 65’, frequency: 39.8.
