List Of Marine Corps Major Battles During Vietnam

The 1^st Battalion 4^th Marines came in-country, Republic of South Viet Nam, during May 1965, they were deployed at the forward Marine Base of Chu Lai, but did not participate in any significant action until June 1965. 

These actions included patrols to learn the terrain and get the lay of the land.  Even though there were several casualties during this period, the Battalions' first Operation is logged in as 2-5 July 1965.
